Slave River Paddlefest

Thanks everyone for such a great 2009 Paddlefest!

Paddlefest 2009 was a huge success - we had 49 registered paddlers, and four full days of events for kayakers, canoeists, kids, spectators, rafters and hikers!   Hundreds of spectators joined us on the rocks on the Saturday for a perfect day of fun competitions and games!  On the other days, there were river trips for three levels of kayakers and two levels of canoeists, and guided hikes along the river for locals and tourists alike.  One of the greatest things about Paddlefest is that most paddlers got here early, and stayed in town for a couple of weeks.

Paddlefest 2009 in the news

Here's a great article from the Slave River Journal (local newspaper) about Paddlefest 2009:  "World Class Whitewater in the Shadow of a Dam"

Here's a great article about the Canadian Tourism Commission film shoot before Paddlefest:  Sharing the Slave River with the World

We also had excellent coverage on CBC North!

See you next year - July 30-August 2, 2010 -
