Wow - that's great Eileen. I think that your best bet might be to contact Don Jaque at the Slave River Journal www.srj.ca or (867) 872-3000. He's been paddling here a long time - I'm sure he'd love to talk to you about paddling. If Don can't help you, then try the NWT Archives. Good luck!

Hello.... I paddled this River and did all 4 rapids in the late 70. Our group was the first group to complete all rapids on the SLAVE RIVER without motors boats. I believe I was the first woman to complete this task. I was wondering where I can find news archives of this event. As it gave me my introduction to rapids and future exploits. Any ideas???
